Coming up for September, we have two events. Please mark your calendars for:

WED. SEPT. 5th at 2:00 we will host Los Angeles based Artist Salomon Huerta in the art show “Fighters.” We will chat with the artist in the PAB at 2:00 and move over to the McNish Gallery to view the work live-in-person at 3:00pm. We will also host a small reception for all guests at the gallery. Thank you to the McNish Gallery and Christine Morla for working with OC LIVE to open our season. See you there. (Flyer below)

And

THURS. SEPT. 20th at 6:00pm we will welcome Sociologist and Professor of Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies  at Pomona College, Dr. Gilda Ochoa, who will speak on Academic Profiling. Her talk will center around the idea that the scars of racist and sexist schooling are deep and so are legacies of struggle. Through poetry, stories, and students’ testimonials, this talk considers the impacts of academic profiling and shares critically hopeful approaches to education. Everyone in the education system will benefit from a conversation with Dr. Ochoa. Thank you to OC Sociologist Dolores Ortiz for working with OC LIVE to connect us to Dr. Ochoa. See you there. (Flyer coming soon). Please join us and let others know.
