IT’S GAME NIGHT AT MOORPARK COLLEGE with the Summer Theatre Production of “Clue: The Musical”
Moorpark, CA – The Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department is proud to announce its Summer Musical Comedy offering of “CLUE: The Musical.” Grab the kids and bring your game faces to this uproarious musical-comedy and play out a murder mystery with Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, and the rest of the colorful crew live on stage. “CLUE: The Musical” runs from July 19th – August 5th in the Moorpark College Studio Theatre.
“CLUE: The Musical” is a colorful crowd-pleaser for kids of all ages based on the internationally popular board game and is brought to life with hilarious results. This fun-filled musical is fit for the entire family and brings the world’s most colorful suspects to life while inviting audiences to help solve the mystery. Just as in the game, the audience gets to decide: who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room, and with what weapon; there are 216 possible solutions! In fact, audience members will use their own theatre programs as game cards to check off clues and help the play’s detective solve the mystery. Bring the family to revel in the comic antics, witty lyrics, and a beguiling score that carries the investigation from room to room.
“CLUE: The Musical” continues a long tradition of exciting summer theatre for all audiences. “Who wouldn’t want to play a game of CLUE, on stage, with life-sized characters and a full musical score?” shares John Loprieno, director and Theatre Arts Department Chair. “I am constantly amazed by the talent of our students. Our student designers have created a world of ‘Cel Shaded’ magic and any fan of cosplay will be blown away when they see these inspired living-breathing works of art. The characters in this production are larger than life and it takes actors with crazy comedic skills to help them jump off the gameboard!”
“CLUE: The Musical” will run July 19th – August 5th with evening performances from Thursday to Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. in the studio theatre at Moorpark College. Tickets go on sale July 1st and may be purchased through the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center Box Office at (805) 378-1485 or online at http://www.moorparkcollege.edu/pac. Moorpark College is located at 7075 Campus Road in Moorpark, 93021.
