Foundation Executive Director, Anne Paul King, Selected to Receive 2019 Professional Fundraiser of the Year Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter

It is with great excitement that the VC Foundation staff announce that our Executive Director, Anne Paul King, has been selected to receive the 2019 Professional Fundraiser of the Year award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter! Anne was secretly nominated and had letters of support from 13 different influential leaders from the Conejo Valley, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties!Anne’s award was publicly announced on September 13, 2019, in the Pacific Coast Business Times’ 2019-2020 Giving Guide. King will be officially receiving this award at the AFP’s National Philanthropy Day 2019 on Tuesday, November 12th, 11:30 am – 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Beachfront Hilton.To be considered for this prestigious award, an eligible individual must practice the profession of fundraising in the most effective, creative and ethical manner. He or she must have made a substantial contribution to the success of the charitable organization(s) for which he or she works, as well as playing an important role in the advancement of the profession. A minimum of five years of tenure as a fundraising executive is required. Before coming to the Foundation, Anne raised over $34 million for both national and local organizations over the course of her career. Prior to joining the VC Foundation in 2014 as the Director of Major and Planned Giving, the scope of her many roles has ranged from the national development consultant to 31 states affiliates at Volunteers of America in Alexandria, VA, to a founding board member of the Conejo Schools Foundation supporting the local Conejo Unified School District. She has worked with the American Heart Association, American University, Trinity Washington University, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Thousand Oaks, and United Parents of Camarillo as well. Currently, Anne is currently providing consulting to a group in the creation of a healing project in response to the Borderline shooting and the Woolsey Fire in November of 2018. National Philanthropy Day acknowledges the entire spectrum of services provided by the nonprofit community and recognizes the profound impact that philanthropy has on the fabric of society. Each year, AFP chapters around the nation honor individuals and groups who, through their hard work and dedication, have enhanced philanthropy, their communities, and the world. The day provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible. Congratulations Anne!
